Oktoberfest

Roast pork, sauerkraut and a free-and-easy atmosphere

Your Host, Gerhard Killian has imported this Bavarian Beer Festival especially into Monaco from Germany and it is an absolute success every year. As reported in the October issue of the German-language newspaper, the Riviera Côte d’Azur Zeitung, the Bar of the Austrian Café-Owner is one of those venues where connoisseurs of ‘smart set’ enjoyment can experience one of the delights of Bavaria in the Principality, at least for some two days on the trot.

Of course, original South German specialities are on offer, such as roast pork or trotters with dumplings and sauerkraut, washed down with the Paulaner brew of beer from Munich.

A real enjoyment for all those, who, although not being averse to Mediterranean Cuisine, still look forward to a welcome diversion from the usual menu.

A great variety of alternatives to the French and/or Monegasque daily round is to be had in ‘Gerhard’s Café’. A further bonus is the obviously great atmosphere, promoted by the musician, Philipp Kanjo, who can actually get the people to dance on the tables right into the night with his accordion-accompanied songs.
